Say the network name aloud before sending stablecoins on Bitget

Guides · 2026-09-30

When you send a stablecoin from Bitget, the screen asks you to pick a network as well as the coin. Many costly mistakes happen because people match the symbol and skip the network, or recognise a network by its first few letters. A surprisingly effective habit is to read the full network name aloud on both the sending and receiving screens before you confirm. Saying it forces your eyes to slow down. This guide explains why networks matter, how to perform the read-aloud check, what to look at on the fee screen and how to test a new route with a small amount. It quotes no fees or network names, since availability changes.

Why the network matters

The same stablecoin can be issued on several blockchains. Each version lives on its own network with its own addresses, confirmation times and withdrawal fees. A deposit address shown by a wallet or exchange belongs to one specific network. If you send on a different one that the destination does not support, the funds may become stuck, and recovery, if possible at all, can be slow and uncertain.

The read-aloud check

Open the deposit screen at the destination first and read the network name aloud, in full. Then open the withdrawal form on Bitget, choose the network and read that name aloud too. They must match exactly. If you live with someone, ask them to listen; a second pair of ears catches more than you expect. If no matching network is available on both sides, stop and look for another route rather than guessing.

Address, memo and fee

Paste the address and compare its first and last characters with the original. If the destination requires a memo or tag, enter it exactly. Then read the fee and the amount to be received as displayed on the withdrawal form, because both change with network conditions. Do not let anyone guide you through this by phone or chat, however helpful they seem.

Test with a small amount

For every new combination of destination and network, send a small amount first and wait until it is credited before sending the rest. Write the date, network name, amount and transaction ID in your notes. Over time those notes become a personal list of routes that worked. If a transfer is delayed, check it on a block explorer and then use Bitget's official support channel.
